As we are from the cast 'Lonari', some peoples says that our origin was from a yogi, named Lomesh rishi. So our cast name is by his name. But this is not 100% true...........!!!

Do you know the history of name 'LONARI'?
This name stuck to us because of our ancients founded to trap the salt, they used to eat and made a buisness also. 'Lonari' word is originated by sanskrit language. 'Lavana' means salt and 'aahari' means those who uses it in food to eat. Or other meaning is, those peoples who earns food by selling the salt.

How this salt came in human's life?
As you all know our ancients was totaly dependant upon nature. So they uses to find the dry wood in the woods to burn the chulha. At that time jungles was oftenly caughts by fire leads to jungle fire. This got the burnt wood as 'Coal', After finding coal, our ancient 'Lonaries' got coal mines. Even after started to dig the coal from mine, they learnt how to make coal in the Bhatti.

Hahahaha....This is the first boon given from some Lonaries to this world.(still they were not identified as Lonari.) After digging the coal mine our ancients got a white stone in some mines.

In rainy season they found that white stone boiling and turns into white paste....You all familiar with this as...'Lime'..!

This was the second boon to the wold from our cast. With this our ancients was uses to eat the roasted meat of animals and fish on the fire of coal.(without the salt)

They found some animals dead by jungle fire and burnt near the sea bank.They found some taste of salt with the roasted meat.They found out what exactly that was and trapped some water. After drying the water they got some white solid crystals, which was tasty but in little quantity.

By this way our ancients found the salt...As third boon to the world. Till this all the world were growned up with our ancients......To call them as LONARI. But accourding to some archiologists the salt and the coal founded in same era. This dosent make any difference to us we were proud of our ancients.....!!! That they were similar to the Scientiest. They give way to make food, they add taste in food, they found base of colour and chemicals...!
